The private corner of the internet.
A memory tree for the people who were actually there. Invite-only, ad-free, yours forever.
Plant your first tree — freeYour friend group has 11 years of shared history. WhatsApp can't find it. Instagram doesn't want to. Google Photos won't stop training AI on it.
anonity is the place your memories actually belong. Invite-only memory trees, one for every group that matters. Private by architecture, not by promise. Yours forever, even after us.
Is anonity a private alternative to Google Photos?
Yes. Unlike Google Photos, anonity never scans, analyzes, or trains AI models on your photos. Your memories are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only the people you invite to a tree can see them. anonity is built for groups — friend groups, families, communities — not for individual photo backup.
What happens to my photos if anonity shuts down?
Your memories are yours forever. Every tree includes a legacy handoff protocol: if anonity ever shuts down, you receive a complete portable archive of all your trees in open formats (JPEG, PNG, MP4, plain text). Your memories will outlive the platform.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your settings in two clicks. Your data stays, your trees stay. You drop back to the free Visitor tier and keep contributing to any trees you've been invited to.
Is the free tier really free?
Yes, and forever. We make money from the people who plant their own trees, not from advertisers or data harvesting. The Visitor tier exists because not every member of a tree should have to pay — friends, kids, partners, grandparents.
How is anonity different from Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp?
anonity is fundamentally different. While there is an Explore feed for public communities and you can like moments, the core experience is built around private, invite-only trees. There is no algorithm manipulating your private memories and no follower counts. Where Instagram is built for public performance and WhatsApp buries memories in chat scroll, anonity is built to preserve what matters with the people who were actually there.
Does anonity train AI on my photos?
No, and we never will. We don't scan your photos, analyze them, or use them to train AI models — including our own. Your trees are private and invite-only, and access is locked down so only the people you invite can ever see them.
Can I export my data?
Yes, anytime. One click in your account settings gives you a complete archive in standard formats (JPEG, PNG, MP4, plain text for notes). Delete it permanently with another click. We don't gate exports, retain "deleted" data, or charge for either.
Does anonity work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. anonity works in any modern browser and installs as a Progressive Web App on iOS and Android — no app store required. Native iOS and Android apps are in development and launching soon.
I built anonity because our memories were rotting in WhatsApp and I couldn't find a place to share them without feeding an algorithm. If you have any questions or feedback, reach out — I read every message. [email protected]
